Supergirl season 3 premiere director revealed!
Yet, we are very much pleased to have a little bit of something to report today when it comes to directors! Based on multiple sources, it appears as though Jesse Warn is going to be directing the first episode of the new season, and there are several reasons to be excited about this.
1. Warn’s history on this show – He was responsible for the season 1 episode “Red-Faced,” which was a very good action-oriented episode that featured the debut of Red Tornado. His appearance for the premiere suggests that you should get some exciting sequences.
2. Warn’s history on other DC – CW shows – Most notably, Warn is coming over to Supergirl for the premiere after taking on director duties for the recent season 5 finale for Arrow entitled “Liam Yu,” which by most estimations is considered to be one of the best episodes to date of that show. He’s also taken on episodes of both The Originals and The Flash, so he’s obviously well-versed in the world of The CW in general.
One of the questions that we are the most interested in knowing at the moment is when the show is going to be introducing its new Big Bad in Reign to its viewers. After all, they have already cast Odette Annable in the role, so as a result of that they have a wide array of possibilities as to when they can bring her in. The seeds are already planted given how we learned about her origins (briefly) in the finale. There is obviously so much more story that could be told.
There are also two other challenges for the third season in that Supergirl will need to figure out how to structure the Alex – Maggie relationship now that Floriana Lima is only going to recur on the show; meanwhile, there is also the hanging chad of Mon-El and trying to figure out what in the world is going to happen with him.
