Fear the Walking Dead season 3 teaser: Chaos abounds
This video offers up the most in-depth look at some of the major themes of the season, with one of the biggest ones being a culture where violence seems more important than discourse. The show this time around looks to underscore the psychological power that militias create within themselves. Such groups do tend to believe that having guns and firepower is more important than anything else, and with that, they’re going to be doing everything that they can to hold on to it.
As for how this militia will relate back to some of the show’s main characters, the likes of Travis, Madison, and Alicia could find themselves in a new community this season, one that feels like they are more well-prepared for the zombie apocalypse than any other we’ve perhaps seen on either this show or The Walking Dead proper. These are people who were ready for something like this even before they knew about zombies, so their life could be relatively unchanged … on the surface, anyway. One of the larger messages of this entire franchise is that humanity is often its own worst enemy, and this is probably going to be reflected in this story, as well. Eventually, it’s easy to imagine a power struggle breaking out within this community, and eventually the entire operation folding on itself. As a matter of fact, it’d be shocking in the event that something like this didn’t happen over time when you think about the history of these communities, both in terms of on the show and away from it.
As for other news of note, Luciana’s coming back! This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, other than that AMC has already effectively given away in various promos what was originally one of its biggest cliffhangers coming into the start of the season. This is something that will be at the center of some more discussion leading into the premiere airing.
