Hawaii Five-0 season 8 premiere date hopes for Alex O’Loughlin, cast
The first thing to mention, obviously, is that Hawaii Five-0 will return for at least 22 episodes and likely more. CBS will confirm episode counts as the new season goes along, but with season 8 in the back pocket and the ratings fairly solid for the season as a whole, there’s a lot to feel confident in.
For every season since the beginning of the series, Hawaii Five-0 started out its run in September and we expect to see that mirrored here. The first episode will likely air either the final Friday of September or the Friday before. Think either September 29 or September 22 in this case. CBS is not a network that likes to sit around in a schedule lab somewhere coming up with experiments in order to get better ratings. They find a solution that works, and then they stick with it. When it comes to Hawaii Five-0, they clearly have a premiere date that works and a timeslot that generates results, especially with MacGyver airing before it.
As for how long the season lasts beyond season 8, this is dictated mostly by the ratings. There’s been talk for months about whether or not this will be the final season for star Alex O’Loughlin, but this is a subject to revisit more down the line. Sometimes, people can change their minds once they get into a new routine and being part of this family will be hard for anyone to want to leave. There were certainly times in which other stars seemed ready to depart their shows only to end up staying put — whatever Alex wants, though, is the right move for him as much as we would miss watching him every Friday night. The majority of Hawaii Five-0 fans feel a deep affection for him as a result of enjoying his work and watching him for such a significant length of time.
What sort of stories do you want to see told on Hawaii Five-0 over the years to come? Now is the time to share below! Come back tomorrow, as there will be an article posted all about some possible story ideas for each one of the major characters.

I just saw a preview for a new series coming out and Chin was the main character. I can assume if the series is a hit he will take the job in La and leave the series! I hope he stays I love his character!

SICK to DEATH of the Steve-Danno bickering.
Peter Lenkov thinks he is so creative and funny….and he keep pulling tired rabbits out of his worn out hat.
I’m tired of Doris’s games, tired of Catherine’s in and out tricks. Tired of the vapid love interests they’ve plugged into the Commander’s life.
If Lenkov intends to hit a NAVY Seal with a debilitating illness….it’s a cheap soap opera pitch. Does he have professional writers?
Please no more car batteries tied on Steve’s chest…. JEESH.

Why do you continue watching? You clearly hate everything about the show. Nobody is forcing you to watch. IDGI.

According to interviews with Alex, it just doesn’t seem he’s interested in acting any more. He seems to be at a crossroads on his future. Maybe if some of these networks weren’t so demanding of a person’s entire life to be put on hold actors that have lives they want to be apart of wouldn’t be so seemly disappointed. 15 hour days x 8 years in a person’s prime is basically their life passing by. Not to mention an obvious unsafe set. It would be nice for him to return for season 9 too. The ratings will drop when he leaves. His fans will accept whatever he decides.

I agree. I’m pretty sure that once Alex is done with S8 then he will quit acting. He could do a movie now and again (which isn’t as time consuming as a TV show filming schedule), but I can’t see him leaving his family. He’s been able to go home to them every day after work while on H50. I’ll miss seeing him onscreen.
As for H50 continuing, I just don’t see how that can happen tbh. I think Scott will leave when Alex does. It’s looking like Grace has already left, and there’s even suggestion that Daniel may have too. Even if the rest of the cast did choose to stay on, McGarrett is H50. Without McGarrett there’s no H50 (at least not for me).

Truthfully I don’t think the show would continue without its star, but that’s just my opinion. I doubt I’d watch if Alex wasn’t in it. I love the team, but I’m an Alex lover since his Moonlight Days. But let’s take one season at a time.
