American Horror Story season 7: Sarah Paulson wants Kellyanne Conway role

Sarah Paulson

As you may have heard by now, American Horror Story season 7 is going to be themed in some way around the Presidential Election. We know that they’re not casting a Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, so exactly how it revolves around that remains to be seen. It’s possible that the show is going to focus more on other people working on the campaigns; or, it’s possible that executive producer Ryan Murphy is going more for a thematic interpretation. Maybe he’s telling a story that is an allegory for some of the events of the election, or he just wants to play on the emotions that were involved there.

The one thing that we do know is that Sarah Paulson, if she has it her way, would love to play Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager who eventually became a key adviser in his Presidency. Speaking to TV Guide, Paulson had the following to say on the subject:

“I’d love to play Kellyanne Conway. First of all, where is she? We haven’t seen her in a couple weeks. What’s going on? … She was everywhere. We could not get her to shut up. And now, where is she? … Don’t get me wrong. I’m appreciating the silence, the quiet, but I am curious. That’s an American horror story for you: What happened to Kellyanne Conway?”

We do think that Paulson would do a great job playing Conway, even if we’ve already got a great one on TV already as played by Kate McKinnon on Saturday Night Live. We might as well start getting used to seeing a wide array of different impersonations of Conway on television given that this is something that is probably going to be omnipresent in the ways and weeks to come. No matter how you look at it, the Presidential Election was historic, and it certainly is going to change the game of how these events are looked at and covered. Thanks to this, we have to assume that there is a whole lot of money that is going to be made from people making movies / TV shows all about it.

If you missed it yesterday, we did get some of the first official American Horror Story season 7 news as Billy Eichner is going to appear in a part. Other than him, Paulson and Evan Peters are the only other cast members confirmed to be returning to the series at present.
