American Horror Story season 7 – Billy Eichner casting: What’s your take?
According to a report from Deadline, the upcoming season has snagged the Billy on the Street host for some sort of significant role, but there are no firm details about the part available just yet. Eichner is the first casting outside of the show’s core cast; we already know that both Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are confirmed to be back, and we have to assume that there’s a chance people like Denis O’Hare, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Lily Rabe will also be around given their recent association with the franchise.
For Eichner, this is a stark departure from most of what he’s known for. Aside from hosting his popular game-show-of-sorts, he’s also starred on Difficult People and recurred on Parks and Recreation. We still have no clue precisely how this will work, but we’d follow Billy Eichner anywhere … just not in some creepy stalker sort of way. He’s incredibly talented, and we’re confident that he’ll have a role here that utilizes some of his abilities while also showing off some new dimensions.
Also, it’s not exactly like this is the most surprising casting in the world for Murphy, who has signed such people as Lady Gaga and Adam Levine for roles in the past. He thinks outside of the box, and often these decisions end up working in his favor. Plus, one of the other great things that comes with working with him is that if he likes and uses you for something once, there is a pretty good chance that he’s going to want to use you for something more a little bit further on down the road. Given that FX doesn’t seem to be as secretive about the season this time as they’ve been in the past, we figure that there will be more announcements in due time.
