Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 17 (finale) spoilers: ‘Aruba’ arrives

Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 17 airs on The CW next week, and it should be clear at this point that this is an installment that is going to be huge to the series’ legacy. “Aruba” is the season 2 finale, and the last installment until we presumably get around to the fall. This is a chance to wrap up the story of the Spear of Destiny once and for all, and it could prove to be one that messes with or even destroys the timeline if things go badly.

As the synopsis below is going to indicate, there is one major rule that the team has operated on from almost the beginning of the series’ run, and they’ve tried to live-and-die by it for the most part. In the finale, they may be forced to break said rule in order to push towards the future and make the world a better place. Fingers crossed that it all works out.

Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 17 synopsis – “As the Legends are about to take off for their next destination, a massive timequake rocks the ship. In order to try and fix what has happened, they are forced to break the one cardinal rule of time travel. But if they are able to destroy the spear, they will face the ultimate consequence.”

One of the big things that we do know about the upcoming finale is that it’s going to serve as a rather-great opportunity to get an appearance from Katie Cassidy. It’s been confirmed already that she will be reprising her role as Laurel Lance; not only that, but we’re speaking more of the Earth-1 version of the character than Black Siren. She’s dead in the present, so her return may be an indication that the Legends are traveling to a time in their current lives when she was still breathing.

If you missed it, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of Cassidy moving forward, as she is going to be a regular on Arrow season 6 as Black Siren.

Promo – There are multiple teams, a crazy battlefield, and plenty of twists to go along with it. Basically, this is going to be a heck of an intense end to the season!
