Ink Master season 9 premiere date will be in June, Dave Navarro confirms
In a new post on Twitter (see below), show host Dave Navarro confirms that season 9 will be premiering at some point in June. The show’s been off the air since last year, when Ryan Ashley Malarkey became the first woman to watch away with the title. What was slightly unusual at the time of said finale airing was that there was no real mention of what the next season would be, which is something that we do have a tendency to learn about at around that time.
Personally, we’ve made our own hopes for Ink Master season 9 rather clear: Go back to basics, drop the twists, and allow us to see a straightforward tattoo competition featuring really talented people. This is one of the best reality competition shows on TV. It doesn’t need a theme or some sort of twist. Just give us great people who know how to tattoo, and the drama basically comes up as a result of all of it.
If you do have to bring on board some sort of twist, we wouldn’t mind seeing something akin to Rivals again or a season where you have people with some sort of preexisting relationship. As long as you don’t have people split up into teams, or people enter the competition late in the game like we saw with the recent All-Star story, we’re going to be pretty much happy in the end.
Some other Ink Master reflection
We wish we had something more to say about season 9 — alas, we don’t! Hopefully a premiere date will be announced within the next month or two in order for the network to have the proper time in which to promote it.
