‘Ink Master’ season 9: Premiere date speculation and twist hopes

Tonight, “Ink Master” season 8 is going to be coming to a close, and we’re already starting to look more ahead towards the future — whatever that may be.

The first thing that we are here to confirm for you is that the show was already renewed for a season 9 earlier this year, prior to the “Peck vs. Nunez” season even starting up on the air. It was an interesting, but exciting, move for Spike to announce that in advance, and it follows a recent trend of theirs to not leave anyone in the dark. It’s something that hopefully, they’re going to continue for a while to come since it never makes us particularly worried about the series’ future. This is a tentpole series for Spike, so we don’t see it going anywhere in the immediate future.

As for when this season could end up airing, our current guess is at some point in the spring / summer. The premiere dates for this show do often fluctuate, with us sometimes getting two seasons a year, and with us only getting one at other times.

If there is one request that we would have, it would be for the show to do away with many of the themes that have really dominated it over the past few years. Mind you, we do certainly understand why in the world producers would want to keep creating thee, since it is an easy way to promote the show and it gets fans immediately interested in the product. Yet, at the same time what they also do is take away somewhat from the original idea of the show. We didn’t dislike “Peck vs. Nunez” as much as we thought that we did, but the whole newbies vs. returning artists twists should still be considered a mess.
