‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 12 video: Will Cabe ask Allie out?

Seeing Cabe get a love interest is something that’s been high on our personal “Scorpion” wishlist for quite some time, and we were therefore rather thrilled when the character of Allie was introduced earlier this season. It’s a chance for Robert Patrick’s character to show off a softer side … or at least however much of one that he has.

What we do get a sense of in the sneak peek below is that, to quote Paige, Cabe really sucks when it comes women. After all, Allie is showing some behavior that is really not typical for a rival campaign manager (remember, this story is tied back into Sylvester running for Alderman), but he’s not picking up on it. Specifically, he’s not even noticing her bringing up a specific restaurant that she wants to go to with great vegetable lasagna, hoping that he is going to make a move and ask her out.

Maybe Cabe eventually will use a different tactic, but for now, we’re enjoying watching him stumble his way through this. For Patrick, we also have to imagine that this is rather fun since it’s a great chance to go against type. Odds are, there’ll still be plenty of times for him to be a badass and we’ll enjoy everyone one of them; we like getting these moments where he’s vulnerable or awkward just for the sake of variance.

If you haven’t heard, this episode is also going to feature a moment where Cabe is in serious danger, as the team will have to figure out whether or not to temporarily freeze him in order to bring him back to life later.
