‘Black Sails’ season 4 video: The story of John Silver

As Starz reveals in the new promo below, the final season of “Black Sails” will be premiering on January 29. Hopefully, we’re going to get to see some closure for many of the show’s characters throughout the season; this time around, we’re looking specifically at John Silver.

What we really appreciate about the video below more than anything else is how effective a job it does at really encapsulating the character’s journey from a humble cook to one of the most-feared people in the series — and how that transformation is not quite over yet. The fourth season will be the end of this particular pirate story, but there were many more woven throughout history that it simply will not have time to tell. What the series did that was so important was prove that there is room for these sorts of stories to be told, and hopefully it is something that inspires more adventures in the high seas moving forward — whether it is on this show or elsewhere.

Also, we should be happy that there is a correlation out there with Silver now that doesn’t have to do exclusively with fast food in 2016.

While of course we do wish that there was a little bit more insight in this video when it comes to significant story development, we’re not in a place as of right now where we’re going to look a gift horse in the mouth. This is just nice for some reflection on what was with the series, and hopefully it is just a small taste of some of the other stuff that the network is preparing for us in the future given that we do still have more than a month to go.
