‘The Leftovers’ season 3 confirmed for April premiere date

Just in case you have been exceptionally curious to learn precisely when “The Leftovers” season 3 is going to be coming back on the air, we are very much pleased to have something that is resembling some further insight on the subject.

According to a new statement from HBO, the new season is going to be officially starting up in April, which confirms many of our recent suspicions. The network had already made it clear that they were devoting the winter portion of their schedule to the premiere of their new limited series “Big Little Lies,” while at the same time holding back until the summer to give you the latest edition of “Game of Thrones.” Unless the network really wanted to torment us a la Kevin Garvey in “International Assassin,” we figured that the spring premiere date was the only time that made a copious amount of sense.

The third season was filmed in both Texas and Australia, and will be featuring many major characters once again on the move. The cast for the new season includes Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka, and we’re certainly very much curious to learn precisely how this story will come to a close. Executive producer Damon Lindelof has stated on multiple occasions that there are no plans to reveal the source of the Departure, so that’s an expectation that you really shouldn’t have entering the final season.

Are expectations high? Given that “The Leftovers” was our favorite show of 2015, and “International Assassin” our favorite episode of that same year, we’d certainly say so.
