‘Chicago Med’ season 2 spoilers: Dr. Halstead’s new love interest is…

While there will be crises aplenty on the upcoming second season of “Chicago Med,” rest assured that there will be plenty of romance to balance things out1 We’ve already heard whispers of love interests here and there, but for this particular article we’re talking all about Dr. Halstead and a potential new love for him.

With that in mind, let’s allow star Nick Gehlfuss, who plays the character, to take it away! Here is what he had to say recently in a chat with Entertainment Weekly:

“I’m really excited for fans to see how season 2 begins … Things get intimate between my character, Dr. Halstead, and pathologist Nina Shore. Fun fact: Patti Murin, who plays Nina, also happens to be Colin Donnell’s real-life wife. I just hope he’s not on set when our characters find themselves in a romantic embrace!”

For those wondering, executive producer Andrew Schneider does not that Will’s feelings for Natalie (Torrey DeVitto) are not necessarily going away because of this romance; this is just another way to change things up.

Ultimately, the only thing that we can say is predictable when it comes to romances and this show is unpredictability. Over time we’ve certainly come to realize just how much things ebb and flow, and also how fun it has been to see constant shakeups with the characters. Therefore, we could easily see Dr. Halstead in a very different position near the end of the season than he was in the early going.
