‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 18 video: Coulson’s latest epic speech

Basically, the sneak peek below for Tuesday’s “Agents of SHIELD” episode may be the most that we have cheered for a Clark Gregg performance since he was on “Lip Sync Battle.”

In this preview, Phil Coulson does his best to try and reach his team on a personal level when it comes to the status of one of their own in Daisy Johnson. He does still care about her and then some, but is also very well aware that times have changed. Hive has infected her mind, and she is now a super-powered killing machine being fully operated by him. Coulson has to find a way now to get the job done, but at the same time, have it done without the utter destruction of her mind or her body. We feel for what he’s saying here, mostly because we realize how such a thing is no easy task.

There’s of course also one other concern here, and that is making sure that the team acts quickly before any other Inhumans are infected. There are times within the Marvel universe where we think that there is merit in being patient; unfortunately, this is a situation seemingly where the longer you wait, the more viable it is potentially that there will be a greater army of Inhumans working for Hive. Therefore, the only time to act may be now, since otherwise you run the risk of a sea of chaos raining down on many of the agents.
