Is ‘The Originals’ season 3, episode 19 new tonight on The CW?

It’s been nice to have a couple of weeks now of new episodes of “The Originals” airing on The CW. With that in mind, it’s a rather big bummer to be here reporting that the trend is not going to be continuing moving into Friday night’s new episode.

In case you are wondering what the reason is here for the repeat, especially given that there is a new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” coming on the air, it’s really so simple as the network wanting to give “Containment” a little bit more love following its premiere earlier in the week. Like many other new shows, they are giving the pilot two chances to air, and the hope obviously tonight for them is that some “Vampire Diaries” fans will check it out, provided they have not seen it already. The two shows (and “The Originals,” for that matter) share a showrunner in Julie Plec, and Claudia Black and Chris Wood are appearing on it after spending time in the vampire universe.

“The Originals” will be returning next week with a new episode entitled “No More Heartbreaks,” and following that, we’ll be in the home stretch of this season more so than ever before. Lucien has been set up as one of the biggest threats to be reckoned with on the show, and we will just have to wait and see precisely what transpires with him moving forward into the future.
