‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 6, episode 17 review: Who is Alice?
Tuesday night’s new episode of “Rizzoli & Isles” proved itself to be dramatic; you had a main case that had a few scary moments to it, but more than that, you also set up what feels like a pretty worthwhile setup to the finale.
Let’s start with what we feel is the most important story thread: Alice. This woman has a connection to Jane that traces all the way back to the two’s days at the Academy, and while we don’t know why exactly she would be after Jane, she has the sort of connections that make her someone capable of carrying out such an operation. The fact that she is played by the always-awesome Annabeth Gish is a little bit of a bonus, given that we always know that she is going to bring it.
So, thank Nina for helping to track her down, and let’s hope for more information there next week. The same goes for Kiki and Korsak, given that some happy times could await the two of them.
As for the main case of the week revolving the minefield, it at least had enough of an element of danger to make it stand out from the field. There was a great sense of action through here as we started to see some of the pieces line together, and of course Jane did get the responsible party in the end. This episode was certainly entertaining, but at the same time we were making such progress with the stalker / hacker / whatever-you-want-to-call-it case that it was admittedly hard to focus even on a scary minefield case when we knew that there was such dramatic stuff happening in other corners of the show universe tonight.
Now, we leave you with this scary thought: There are only 14 episodes left of the entire series. Episode Grade: B.

Who’s Maura, the writers forget to highlight her at all anymore, it is the Jane show. I want to know about Maura, how she got that special material, what favors she traded on, I want to see the actual conversation of her moving mountains with her influence and wealth to help these blu collar supposed friends that barely include her anymore. I wanted to wish all kinds of evil on the writer and ep when I sa Korsak actually pause until Maura had walked into the woods and out of earshot so he could talk to Jane about the person going after her. Really, this overweight, cartoon type character, that walks around like a buffoon is now Jane’s best buddy and confidant. I hope he either retires or gets killed in the show very quickly, he reminds me of an annoying muppet or that gross frog in that syfy show with Claudia Black. Get rid of him and give us more Maura!

Who is Alice?? I am afraid they have made her someone that is of little interest. It reminds me of LOST, they kept writing all of these things that could have been interesting, but, when they finally had to explain them they didn’t know how or didn’t have the writing intelligence to do so, so came up with something completely yawn worthy. R&I has done the same thing, although, a much more minor show, so I guess I shouldn’t expect much, but, they tried to create this great foe for Jane, and then had no ideas of what to write or how to tie into the Jane history the audience already knew, so grabbed something out of their butt that will be of little interest, but, hey, they got to waste all of these episodes on it, what a waste of episodes when they have already been cancelled.

I thought the entire episode was junk, a complete filler episode wasted on a secondary character that I wouldn’t think too many care anything about, but, again it was a filler episode, so I guess that is what they consist of, nothing that matters. At the end they tried to throw in something they thought would be interesting, the person behind going after Jane and Maura, but, what a letdown that was, someone from Jane’s days at the academy, WOW, HOW INTERESTING (Rolling Eyes) such complete lazy writing, nothing interesting, lets just concoct some b/s storyline about someone the audience doesn’t know or care about. A big whatever, this show just stinks anymore, I was hoping for better in the episode where Maura was saved, that episode was pretty much a letdown and they have gone downhill since, not sure why this show has taken such a submarine dive the last year or so, but, it is a completely different and boring show than what I use to really look forward to.
