‘Penny Dreadful’ season 3: When will new episodes start airing?

Let’s face it: If you are a fan of “Penny Dreadful,” then you have to be very much aware of the fact that there is a long wait ahead the next several months. There are no new episodes in the near future; heck, it may be a while before we even start to get a sense as to who the new characters are.

With that being said, we did want to spend at least some time in this article attempting to answer a very important question: When could there be some new episodes premiering on Showtime next year? We know that “spring” is the reasonable timeframe, given that this is when the first two seasons each premiered. Meanwhile, we also know that the month of May is equally reasonable.

Can we get a little more specific than this? While we cannot necessarily nail any particular dates down, we can at least tell you some of the following:

1. May 8 and May 15 are the two most reasonable possibilities as to when new episodes could air. This is the same sort of timeframe as mentioned previously.

2. We wonder if there is a case to be made to premiering it on the 22nd. This would allow the show to be freed up ever-so-slightly from having to compete against some shows in the May sweeps, and sometimes having that extra bit of flexibility can do a world of good.

No matter when it starts, season 3 will be nine episodes, and is set to expand so much of the world we’ve come to know thanks to characters going off in different directions.
