Do ‘UnREAL’ finale ratings set good tone for season 2?

UnREAL -When Lifetime first decided to renew “UnREAL” for a second season, we feel like for the most part, one of the primary driving forces behind it was their simple interest in making sure that they kept quality around on the air. We’re pretty sure it was not because of their TV ratings along, given that they were mediocre at best.

However, there is still plenty of hope that all of this will change leading into a second season. More and more people are going to inevitably learn about the show, which will in turn allow them to see that there is a whole lot to love here. We feel at least for the most part like one of the biggest problems with “UnREAL” is mostly that there are a number of viewers out there who think it is like “The Bachelor,” and is not as well-written or as cutting as it is. (Is there anything we can do to convince you otherwise?)

For now, at least the show can celebrate a little bit entering season 2 after looking at the recent season 1 finale ratings. The show drew overall a 0.3 in the 18-49 demographic and around 790,000 viewers, which were its best numbers in roughly a month. They were both sizable increases from the penultimate episode last week, which showed that many viewers couldn’t wait to see how “Everlasting” would end.

Sure, the show is not getting anywhere near the numbers that the show it is skewering in “The Bachelor” does, but that was never really the goal here anyway.
