‘UnREAL’ season 2 spoilers: Show boss on Rachel’s mindset going out of crazy finale

UnREAL -The season 1 finale of “UnREAL” aired last night on Lifetime, and we feel at the moment that it is definitely fair to say that this was an hour jam-packed full of crazy moments. We’re really not sure how else you are meant to describe an hour that brought us tears, someone leaving someone else at the alter, and then ultimately Rachel taking a complete slash-and-burn approach to everything after Quinn duped Adam into bailing on their plans, and then Jeremy publicly humiliated her in an effort to ensure that she does not get anything that she ever wants again with this crew.

So where are we going next with Rachel in the second season? She is certainly unhinged, and based on what executive producer Marti Noxon told TVLine, it is very well possible that this could remains this way going into the second season:

“Sarah [Gertrude Shapiro, series co-creator] and I have always joked that when [Rachel] basically is humiliated by Adam and then she has to watch him propose to and go through the motions of marrying somebody else, there’s just a moment where she goes full Walter White, you know? Like, the dragon comes totally out, and she can’t see straight for her raging humiliation. We leave her unbridled, and a little bit out of control, and her dragon powers are at full force. So we think it’s going to be pretty interesting to see what she does with all those feels when she comes back in. We don’t even know if we’re jumping forward in time or what, but yeah, she’s a loaded gun right now.”

By the time we do make it to the premiere of the second season, hopefully we’ll learn a little bit more about if there is a time jump, and a way for Rachel to start to calm down a little bit after everything that she has gone through. That could be a key component to whatever her mental state will be.
