‘America’s Got Talent’ preview: Some sort of history; plus, fire!

The full review -There is at least one more audition episode coming for “America’s Got Talent” this season, and based on the latest promo for it below, there appears to be one really major component to it: Fire, and plenty of it! Seriously, this looks to be something insane.

In the sneak peek video below, you can see Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum’s specific freak-out faces over something that the show is advertising as “history-making.” Doesn’t that get you excited? Well, it does to us to a certain extent. We have a hard time really getting all that jazzed up about something on this show anymore, mostly because the promos are typically stuffed full of hyperbole. Remember the one about the crazy injury that we saw last week? It was at least fairly serious, but the group was able to move on to the next round anyway, and there may still be a chance for them all to compete in the future.

The one thing that we are at least happy about here is that this act seems to be a danger one, and we are glad to be back outside once again. We figured that we had already seen all of the auditions in this sort of venue! Granted, we do still wonder how in the world the show is going to pull off some of these stunts at Radio City Music Hall and its general vicinity. It’s not like there are a lot of wide open spaces in Manhattan where these sort of stunts can be attempted. The show will probably have to pre-film something at some other location, and then have the audience vote based on that footage.

Ultimately, though, we’re fine with that. We just like that we’re getting something new this season.

If you missed the news earlier, it is official that Howard Stern is departing “America’s Got Talent” after this season. Read more here, or sign up today to get some other updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: NBC.)
