‘America’s Got Talent’: Howard Stern leaving at end of season

The full review -While we’re not sure that Howard Stern is necessarily putting a big red X on “America’s Got Talent,” it does appear as though the prolific King of All Media is ready to exit stage right. Today, Stern himself confirmed that the tenth season is going to be his last on the NBC show.

Why? As the man himself said, much of it is due to a mere desire to try to do some other things, including potentially something else on television. He was kind enough to inform the series long in advance, with the benefit for that being that they now are not so bound to doing the show straight out of New York. As much as they have touted Radio City Music Hall as one of the appeals of doing the show, much of the reason for it being set there is really just to ensure that Howard is properly accommodated for the time in which he is on the show. He likes to continue his radio duties while concurrently taking part on the series.

As for who will take his place, we have to think that Simon Cowell, who is a longtime executive producer on the show, is a lead candidate. After all, there were rumblings at one point previously that he was interested in taking on the gig. Personally, we’re a little over Simon, since there is really not that much we could hear him say that would surprise us anymore.

Howard will continue the rest of the season, so at least you don’t have to worry about the king giving up his crown anytime soon.
