‘America’s Got Talent’ review: Alex Boye auditions Arielle Baril gets Heidi Klum’s golden buzzer

America's Got Talent -America’s Got Talent” is getting near the end of the audition rounds, and at the moment, we are waiting for Heidi Klum to finally press her golden buzzer! We assume that this is going to happen at some point. As it turns out, tonight the show finally listened to some of our criticism of having the last act of the night predictably be the one that got the buzzer. We’ll have a little more on that later.

As always, the acts below are the ones that actually stood out, as in they actually made it to another point in the competition. Also, we don’t really want to talk about that balloon guy. Do we have to?

The Gentlemen – We have an act like this every season. This time, it is in the form of two young, charismatic dancers who are showing off their moves and personalities. They have no shot at all of winning, but they probably have the appeal to at least make it to the live show.

Oz Pearlmen – He’s a good “mentalist” sort of performer. The biggest thing that he has to work on moving into the next round is trying to add a little bit of brevity to the act. It took a long time to get to the big reveal, even if it was a pretty cool one.

Brittany Allen – This is a darkhorse this season. There’s a ton of talent here for a young singer, but she has a major roadblock: Confidence. She had to restart her audition, and not everyone was willing to give her a yes after this. If she gets her confidence together, she could be someone who blows us away later … and we don’t say this much about singers.

Semeneya – They were the dance group with an injury from the promo, but of course it was so much more dramatic there than it actually was on the show. While one of the dancers was taken off in an ambulance, they were then able to continue, wowing the judges in the process.

Arielle Baril – As we said, here is the golden buzzer act! Arielle is an incredible singer, and we were actually surprised when Heidi decided to put her straight through to the live shows based on the timing of it all. We only wish that “AGT” actually would clear more than the same audition song for opera singers time and time again. We feel like we’ve already seen this same moment three or four times.

Shel Higgens – The Grandpa Show is nuts, but if we are being honest we have also seen much more intense danger acts over the course of the series. He did cut an apple with a chainsaw while wearing a blindfold, but that is good enough to make it through.

Oleksey – He is very good at what he does … but what he does happens to be doing acrobatic tricks on a mannequin’s head. It is one of the strangest things we’ve ever seen. Can’t he do this with something a little less creepy?

Alex Boye – One of the last acts of the night was an incredible performer with a massive band. He’s a completely different performer than anything that we’ve seen just yet, and we were entertained more or less from start to finish.
