‘Game of Thrones’ season 5, episode 9 (plus finale) titles, synopses revealed

Take a look -In looking beyond this weekend’s new episode of “Game of Thrones,” there are two more exciting episodes worth looking forward to. What’s set to happen? Let’s just say “quite a bit.” you have two intense hours written by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and they also happen to be directed by none other than the sensational David Nutter. If these episodes are anything short of amazing, let’s just say that we’ll be both stunned and/or disappointed.

This week, HBO unveiled not just the titles for these two installments, but also the synopses for them, as well. You can take a look below, of course with the knowledge that there is at least some minor spoilers ahead.

5×09, “The Dance of Dragons” (airing June 7) – “Stannis (Stephen Dillane) confronts a troubling decision. Jon (Kit Harington) returns to The Wall. Mace (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) visits the Iron Bank. Arya (Maisie Williams) encounters someone from her past. Dany (Emilia Clarke) reluctantly oversees a traditional celebration of athleticism.”

5×10, “Mother’s Mercy” (airing June 14) – “Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged.”

In this particular era of “Game of Thrones” where little is known anymore courtesy of the show catching up with the books, the finale has us both excited and also nervous at the same time. We could see Dany on the move potentially, and also the consequences for some of Cersei’s actions as of late could be completely revealed. These are going to be a crazy two hours, though we very much expect the first to be the more eventful of the two. Typically the penultimate episodes of this show are the ones that stand out the most, though at least we know this time that we are going to be seeing multiple settings.
