‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ preview: Mike versus the field
Remember how Jeff Probst repeatedly hyped that “Survivor: Worlds Apart” was going to be a great season? To us, one of the only ways that this can be ensured is in the event that we actually see Mike Holloway wins. While Carolyn has been a good player and Rodney is tremendous for crazy entertainment, much of the narrative as of late has been told through Mike’s perspective. He’s a strategic mind who fights hard in challenges and will do anything to make it to the end.
As the promo below reminds us, though, the only thing that will keep him in the game at this point is winning immunity. We have no clue what will happen! This is great about these all-newbie seasons of the show, when CBS manages to really quiet spoilers and give us a season that is truly surprising. This is the only thing we’re prematurely worried about when it comes to next season; players telling other players who didn’t make the cut what happened, and then someone who didn’t get on the show leaking what happened out of frustration. Fingers crossed.
Anyhow, at least the Mike story Wednesday should be really exciting, and since we don’t want to have false expectations, to us the greatest thing that could happen here would be if Mike at least makes it to the final five and the finale next week. That creates the most anticipation, especially if some other strong people like Rodney and Carolyn also still remain.
If nothing else, we at least know that Mike is going to be campaigning hard to Dan, who has a known advantage and is somewhat of a threat because of it.
