‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Show boss on carrying story into season 4

Arrow -There has always been a certain amount of connective tissue on “Arrow” from one season to the next. For example, season 1 had Slade Wilson already introduced as a significant part in the story, while season concluded with at least some of the Ra’s al Ghul mythology buried within the Sara and Nyssa characters.

So what about the finale this season? You’ve heard the name Damien Darhk mentioned a variety of times now, in addition to the organization HIVE that was involved in bidding on the earthquake machine and also killing John Diggle’s brother. They’ve really been planted in some way ever since the start of the first season, and based on what we are hearing now, they could be a very important part of the future. Are they big bad material? For now executive producer Marc Guggenheim is not saying, at least when speaking to Entertainment Weekly on this particular subject:

“I will say that season 1 didn’t set up the big bad of season 2 and season 2 didn’t set up the big bad of season 3, at least as far as the season finales were concerned … We’ll probably go further than we’ve ever gone in a season finale to give you a sense as to who the big bad of the next season will be. But we still have a lot to do with Ra’s and the League of Assassins.”

So far, most of what we know about Darhk is that he has connections to Ra’s already, and we wonder how he will work his way into the story more than he is already.
