‘Big Brother Canada 3’ review: Who was the victim of instant eviction?

Kevin -We like the drama that comes out of the instant evictions on “Big Brother Canada 3” like nobody’s business, but we do have to admit here that if we were actually playing in the game, we would loathe them for how unfair they are. It completely strips away any hope of strategic thinking, and forces a Head of Household to get huge blood on their hands immediately.

Take, for example, what happened with Kevin. He did not want to be HoH in the first place, and tried to throw it so that Ashleigh would win. That didn’t happen, and he nominated Naeha and Brittnee for eviction. Unfortunately, after this he wanted to change his nominations, especially when he realized that he was really the target of Bobby when he won HoH last week. It was too late, and unfortunately there was not anything he could do about it. He also could not say anything out of fear of his own eviction.

When you consider the nominees (we told you that Brittnee was super-pawn material the rest of the season), it shouldn’t be a shock what happened next: Naeha left the game. Johnny and Sarah are the only two who voted for her to stay, and we feel pretty bad for her because of this twist. There was no Veto! The only thing that made this more awkward was everyone having to read their votes out loud … and Graig giving some patronizing speech about Naeha being the new Neda while misspelling her name.

Afterwards, Sarah felt ridiculously guilty for voting for Brittnee to leave, but eventually got over it as the women realized that their numbers were dwindling fast. This may drive Pilar closer to Brittnee and Sarah, even though Willow and Ashleigh still have another alliance to rely on.

The next Head of Household Competition had a bit of randomness to it, given that you were seeing teams of two stand atop gears, with only one of them getting a chance to be Head of Household in the end. However, the show really wanted to push the narrative throughout here that this could be the one for Sarah and Brittnee to win, given that they have smaller feet and Brittnee is used to posing. There was never any doubt that they were going to pull this off. When they did, Sarah let Brittnee have it since she has spent so much time on the block.

Of course, the big problem for these two is that they’ve showed that they are so close that anyone who works with them will automatically be third. They’ve got another week of safety, but this could be difficult for them moving beyond this. Grade: B+.
