‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Will there be a major ‘Originals’ crossover?
Like many things at the moment when it comes to The CW, “Arrow” and “The Flash” have changed the game when it comes to crossovers. These two series created what may be one of the greatest crossover events ever in “Flash v. Arrow” and “The Brave of the Bold,” and it only makes sense that you would want to see some other shows try to replicate it to a certain degree.
With that being said, will they? The folks over at The CW definitely have an opportunity to do just that, given that they have “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals,” which are two shows we feel really have not taken full advantage of existing within the same universe just yet. That is a shame, since we are talking about two shows each with beloved characters and an opportunity to create some interesting situations.
So what does the head of the network have to say about all of this? Effectively, that he is all for it. Speaking to TVLine, Mark Pedowitz made it clear that ultimately, this is really just a matter of timing above all else, and making sure that there is the right story for a respective show:
“For me, when you’re doing crossovers, they have to have a level of organic basis; otherwise they feel forced and the audience recognizes it … So it’s up to them. If they think it’s the right way to go, I’m fine.”
While we are not sure what the story would be, we do feel like it would be a real travesty if both of these shows end without a gigantic event.
