‘The Voice’ UK: Rita Ora’s debut, season 4 premiere draw solid numbers
Still, the BBC series managed to still pull something pretty great off in the ratings for Saturday’s season 4 premiere. Overall, the show drew around eight million viewers as a whole, which is only a slight decline from the year before. It was also easily strong enough to win the night for the network.
One of the reasons that we feel the show continues to do well, despite its flaws, is that people really enjoy the whole blind audition concept. There is something still so fun about coaches getting to see a contestant for the first time after a great audition. If only the show managed to come up with a great concept after the beginning of the season, they would be in remarkable shape.
Also, a major shout-out must be given here to new coach Rita Ora, who fit in right away with Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson, and will.i.am as a magnetic and entertaining personality. She knows that she has a job in helping artists become their very best, but it is not lost on her that this is a TV show. She was excellent in the premiere.
