ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 5 video: Nathan Fillion’s Rick and a book commercial
Even when you get away from the case of the week on Monday night’s all-new “Castle” season 7 episode, one thing continues to remain clear: Technology and social media is a big theme to the story.
For Richard Castle the author, so much of that is about realizing that in this modern world for some reason, there is an almost-desperate reason to know almost every little detail about someone’s life. This includes Nathan Fillion’s character getting someone to document him making a commercial. So it’s an ad for his new book that it is in some ways within another ad for his book. Bizarre.
Ironically, there is one unintended moment of the commercial that almost everyone is sure to love on the internet: Watching Castle knock over all of the copies of his book after he originally instructed them to be placed so high. He was basically the author (get it?) of his own embarrassment right here.
As for the case itself, Castle and Beckett will use the internet and modern social media to help track down a killer, but based on what we are seeing here, there is not a whole lot of evidence that Rick has learned anything just yet that will actually be of use in the case. Unless, of course, the NYPD need someone who is an expert at bloopers.
