ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7, episode 5 video: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion battle technology

Monday night, “Castle” has an episode coming up that truly seems to have all sorts of great potential. The title here is “Meme is Murder,” and that in itself may be enough to make you laugh. Even if it’s not as funny as we’re hoping for, it could make up for it when it comes to sheer intensity.

As the new sneak-peek video basically gives away, Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) are going to be challenged by a mystery killer that seems almost straight out of an episode of “Sherlock” more than something that they traditionally deal with. This killer is not afraid of confronting the NYPD one on one, and almost daring them to find the next victim before it is too late.

The reason why we find this story to be so particularly interesting is that so far this season, there hasn’t been an adversary quite like this. While the mystery of what happened to Castle during his two months away is still out there, the show does not seem to be all that interested in addressing that right now. That is most surprising given that we didn’t think Rick would be so willing to just let that go and continue to solve some other cases.

Still, that part of the equation may come up during the November sweeps … so for now, why not just go ahead and enjoy this episode while you can?
