‘Chicago PD’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Will Voight be rescued?

Tonight’s new episode of “Chicago PD” had quite a few shockers, but one of the biggest ones has to do with the Voight character. Jason Beghe’s character is going to be in a pretty horrendous place by the time this episode (entitled “An Honest Woman”) really gets going, and of course it is going to be up to the entire police department to try to figure out how to bring him back.

Before we say a whole lot else when it comes to this episode right now, all we’ll say is to check out the official synopsis via NBC:

“While trying to help out Olive (guest star Caroline Neff) Voight (Jason Beghe) is attacked and taken. When he doesn’t show for work the team gets suspicious and begin investigating. Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) and Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) prove they do belong on the team when they demonstrate smarts and savvy tracking down a lead that will hopefully bring them to Voight.”

Will this episode deliver? we really hope so, but the thing that makes us a little nervous right now is simply the nature of some of these “shocking” cases where an officer or a fireman (in the case of “Chicago Fire”) is in grave jeopardy. There are only so many times that these can work, so if you are going to go in this direction next week, we hope that they really avoid it for most of the other cases that are coming up the rest of the season.
