ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 premiere preview: An emotional Stana Katic scene (video)

ABC has finally unveiled their first sneak peek for the upcoming season 7 premiere of “Castle,” and you can be assured that this is an emotional one. It may not give away that much about what is coming in “Driven,” but it does remind you of how this has to be the worst day of Kate Beckett’s life. She thinks that she finally has everything figured out so that she can marry Castle, only for him to be snatched away at the last second due to a fiery car crash.

The biggest thing to take away from the sneak peek below story-wise is that Castle is of course still alive, and is not in the car despite it being on fire. Visually, though, this is a great job all around. The atmosphere from director Rob Bowman is perfectly created for the moment, and Stana Katic completely kills the scene, doing what she can to try and save a man who isn’t even there. She doesn’t even let the wedding dress get in the way.

You can see little glimpses of most of the other supporting characters in here, as well, as this scene serves as a jumping-off point for really the rest of the story in this episode. By the end of it, you may at least know a little more about the people who took Castle and why, but it may not be until the second episode when everything starts to become a little more clear.
