‘Undateable’: NBC to air final three episodes on some day
Is there a future for “Undateable” on the air? We’re not entirely hopeful for the comedy, based on its most-recent ratings of a 0.8 in the 18-49 demographic. We want to see it back, but for the time being, we have to deal with the reality that next month could be the end of the show.
Not only that, but it is looking more and more like the end of the show could be coming sooner than you previously thought. NBC has confirmed that there will be three episodes of the show running on July 3, starting at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time. This ultimately does mean that the end of the series is coming a little bit earlier than we at first thought or hoped.
Is there a silver lining? It’s mostly that the show did have a chance to live out its entire run, so regardless of what happens next, you got to see its full journey without it getting shelved off to Saturday nights. If it is canceled, we hope most of the people find some work elsewhere. Chris D’Elia and Ron Funches in particularly are two of the funniest guys working right now, so they shouldn’t be without a regular gig for long. Until then, we’ll continue to hope that they appear on “@midnight” as much as humanly possible.
As a motivation to keep the show around, though (which may not bee too much coming from one person), how great is it that NBC has had such a comedy-focused Thursday night this summer? “Hollywood Game Night” is at least fun, while “Last Comic Standing” is the return of something that we loved for most of the 2000s while it was regularly on the air.
Are you hoping that “Undateable” sticks around? Share your thoughts below.

I love Undateable and pretty much all Bill Lawrence makes other than Cougartown, I was really upset by the cancelling of Surviving Jack. I really like this show, the Shelly character really plays well as a one lining zinger. Danny makes a good Fonz type while still being a genuine non- douche. Little Bird really does well with the anal-retentive straight man character. However, the only thing I felt hurt the show was letting him have the girl too soon, it was way too fast, I thought the move could have fixed it but at no point was there an introduction of a lust character. All the shows following this formula do it. The seemingly attainable hot girl who is just out of reach for the straight laced guy can’t be reached until his character metamorphosis is complete. If he gets her too quick then something has to mess it up. Main characters can be happy when the series ends and during 10-15 episodes every 2nd season or so but to give him the girl early makes it obvious that it is a TV show. Danny may be a player but he couldn’t have fixed him that quick. If the show doesn’t get cancelled have her do something small to break them up, small enough so fans won’t hate her but big enough so people will forgive him for going on his metaphorical journey. In the end they end up together but until he is fixed it will not be believable.

I love this show!! I haven’t laughed this much while watching a television sitcom since King of Queens. There is great chemistry with all the actors/actresses. I am looking forward to more seasons to come. I hope the big wigs don’t cancel this one.

By far the most fun I’ve ever had working on a show! These guys & girls deserve a second season they’re so damn talented. I hope when we get picked up the writers will develop their story lines more to get to know the characters better. Then people will get attached, c’mon NBC let them do that, I want to go back to doing hair on the best cast in the business!

I love this show too. I wasn’t optimistic at first but was pleasantly surprised. I hope it sticks around.

That is true, they were only going to air 12 and just axe our 13th. That was their plan going in. They manipulated to schedule to give us an extra hour of air this week so they could air our season finale and an extra re-run. I think they assumed it would be a failure burn off and were surprised by the numbers, twitter feedback, etc. Now there’s hope of beating the odds. Fingers crossed.

This show is great, can’t wait for multiple seasons. Best thing on TV in a long time. The airing of all 3 episodes at the end was always planned. Anyone not watching needs to go watch several episodes NOW and then you’ll see….this thing will give Big Bang Theory some real competition for once.

IT WAS ALWAYS ENDING JULY 3rd so their new comedies could premiere July 10th. The 13th episode of Undateable was never on the schedule– they simply added it. Could be a GOOD sign!!!
