‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Emilia Clarke’s plan in ‘First of His Name’
Where do we go from here on “Game of Thrones“? It’s really not too hard to figure out thanks to the linear nature of the show. The silent war between the Lannister and the Tyrell family is going to continue, just as Dany’s plans to continue conquering lands far away from Westeros will. Meanwhile, things with Jon and the Night’s Watch continue to heat up as he starts to lead his own team to continue believing in him.
This episode is entitled “First of His Name,” and before we do anything else (including analysis of the promo), take a look at the official synopsis. It’s short, but valuable:
“Cersei and Tywin plot the Crown’s next move. Dany discusses future plans. Jon embarks on a new mission.”
As for the promo that aired after the episode, the biggest jaw-dropping reveal that we got from it was the battle with Jon Behind the Wall is going to cause all sorts of problems. That was the most interesting highlight from an action perspective, but there was a very interesting moment regarding Margaery and Tommen in here. She watched him be crowned as the new king, and Cersei was almost deliberately standing in between the two of them. She knows what Natalie Dormer’s character is up to, and wants to put a stop to it if she can.
Tonight’s episode was a little more exposition-based and designed to get us from point A to point B. With that in mind, we’re looking forward to seeing just what point B ultimately brings to us.
