‘The X Factor’ USA finale rankings: Could Jeff Gutt top Alex & Sierra, Carlito Olivero?
No offense to Carlito Olivero, but at this point “The X Factor” USA is basically a two-person race. We’ve got a single dad in Jeff Gutt who loves to talk about his son, and then you have a couple in Alex & Sierra who are the younger, more contemporary choice. These two have delivered some strong performances for most of the competition, and while we feel like there is a clear winner, neither have been in the bottom before. Therefore, who really knows just where the public is going to go with this.
We’re going to be factoring in performance quality and internet reaction above anything else in this final rankings of the season, though we imagine that some little things in the finale, like song choice and performance order, could play a role.
3. Carlito Olivero (last week: 4) – The positives for Carlito here following his time on the show are that he is going to be able to try to record some music and get involved in the industry. But the negatives are that he’ll have a hard time doing it in America, and he’ll have to almost start from the ground up in the Latin market unless Paulina Rubio really helps him out. He’s a much better performer in Spanish that he is English, and he needs to not try so hard to be a heartthrob.
2. Jeff Gutt (2) – Jeff needs to try to focus more on the angle that he’s doing this show for himself at this point. We’re not blaming him fully for this since the editors are a major culprit, but the son story is massively overplayed and feels almost like a guilt trip at this point. He has a great voice and we can see him having some sort of rock career with the right people behind him, but we’re 99% certain he is the last person that Simon Cowell wants as the winner. Remember how well Tate Stevens fared with his album? It’s going to be hard for Jeff to do any better.
1. Alex & Sierra (1) – They’ve been at the top of this list for a while now, mostly because any other winner would shred what little credibility this show has. They’ve been the strongest act by a huge margin all season long, their performances have sold well on iTunes, and they could have a career in the industry if they are given the time to write their own music. Even if they don’t win, it may not be a bad thing for their career since it takes some of the pressure of living up to that $1 million contract off.
Who are you rooting for? For the last time, vote in our poll below!

Jeff Gutt has the strongest and most consistent vocals. He has been #1 on the iTunes Rock Charts for the US and Canada everyday I have checked the past few days. His sound is amazing.

Well folks… have to say all the acts are good in their own way. Its the quality of the acts that is the difference. Carleto is not ready. I don’t know where people say Alex and Sierra are at the top?..She has great vocals, but the thier style is lame! No substance to the performance. I believe Jeff Gutt best fits the form of an all around entertainer. He showed he is very versatile in the different styles of music he can perform. If Jeff don’t win, one can bet its because of Simon Cowl politics!

Maybe Simon is not as brilliant as he claims, if he was in fact that smart, he would have gotten behind Tate Stevens(who should not have won) but as long as he did win, back your performers, promote them, thats how money is made and fame is achieved, he also left poor Carly Rose out in the cold, to put his money on a couple 1 hit wonders, Emblem 5, and 5th harmony, seriously, back something that stands the test of time, Rock of all varieties. You can see how popular Jeff is, put your ego aside and back someone even if you are not the their mentor. Do the right thing Simon! You see how far going the egotistical way got you. Next month when the new flavor of the month of groups or love hits the public all your supporters will jump onto that wagon, but we are here, here to stay to the end of time. Is it not safer to put your money (and mouth) on a sure thing, rather than a bunch of temperamental teenie boppers. Seriously, think about it

Jeff Gutt is the clear winner here! He captures the attention of the viewers each and every week! He has proved that with the iTunes rock chart. He is a proud father, he’s not looking for sympathy. In fact there should be more men out there like him! Jeff will sell out arenas. He has an army of people pulling for him! I for one can not wait to buy his album! Jeff Gutt for the win!

Why Carlito is even still in this competition I don’t understand. He should have been gone long ago. As for A&S…they could be good, if they are singing lullabies. They are so boring and every song they do sounds identical to the last. And if we are talking overplayed stories, their love story falls into that category. They try to play up the cutesy mushy act, but that would probably crumble under the pressures of a music career, of which neither has any real experience. And saying Jeff’s single dad story is overplayed…have you ever been a single parent? It’s not exactly easy, especially being the sole provider for your child. He also has no control over what the show uses and what they don’t. Of course he is doing the show for himself, but that doesn’t mean his son isn’t the bigger reason why he decided to go for this. People shouldn’t count Jeff out so easily. He is a strong contender and if we are going strictly off talent and no back story or act, Jeff wins hands down. He has more talent in his pinky than A&S could ever wish to have combined. Just saying.

I agree, every breath and every move you make you have to do for your kids. A&S, oh my, b-o-r-i-n-g!!!who wants to sit there and watch them look at each other during a concert, I can barely stand it for the 3 minutes they perform. Geesh already, Talent should always be first, no matter what life you live, or where you come from. Simon would be a fool for not getting behind Jeff’s career. People our age are more loyal and trust worthy than the teenie boppers who bounce from one infatuation to another. We know what we like, we stand behind it, buy it, and live it every day, our rock souls do not change, they just grow in appreciation and acceptance of new artists. We get behind something and do not abandon it..We will always Jeff Gutt’s army of supporters.

Very well said. I couldn’t agree more. If A&S wins, they will be popular until the next big thing comes around, and then no one will even remember who they are. They aren’t good enough to leave a lasting impression, and their whole “look at how in love we are” act can only carry them so far. Being able to strip a song to its bare bones and sing it is great, but they gotta show that they can do more than that, but they haven’t. Every week it’s been “hey let’s take this song, slow it down, and sing it while gazing into each others eyes!” UGH we got it already. Jeff hits the stage though and it’s always something new and amazing.

Dont get too cocky on A&S winning, Jeff Gutt has what it takes to win this and the fans and Jeff will fight to win. It is a lethal one two punch to beware of . Go Jeff Gutt #JeffGutt

I’M sorry,, but the Poor boy card is a bit overplayed with Carlito – SIMOM ‘s comments will play a huge part in it –it seems and YOU know what he will do -Finale- Sierra just can’t hit the Notes-I don’t get it–she stays safe on song choices-There should be a powerhouse female vocalist to beat-I think he has it — SONG choice has to be perfect-one everyone has heard and loves. with his KICK BUTT rocker spin– Another standing Ovation– I will vote everyway Possible

Don’t rule out Jeff just yet! He gets stronger every week and his fan base continues to grow. And he will be successful in the industry no matter the outcome of XFactor! Jeff for the win!

For me, the finale was last week. The elimination of Restless (talentless) Road proves that even country music fans (and teenage girls) have abandoned this show. I’m happy. Ironically, Alex and Sierra could end up being x-factor USA’s biggest success story to date.
