‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Prison Break’s’ Robert Knepper lands Clock King role

Take a look -Robert Knepper may as well change his name to “Villain Master.” While he got an opportunity to do something different this month on TNT’s “Mob City,” this is a guy who has made quite an impression over the years playing all sorts of nefarious guys. Just look at “Prison Break,” “Heroes,” “Cult,” or even “The Blacklist.” It doesn’t really matter what he does; it’s usually fantastic and terrifies you to no end.

So it’s thanks to all of that we are pleased to report that Knepper has now landed a great role on “Arrow.” According to TVLine, the actor is going to stop by in the role of the Clock King, a man otherwise known as William Tockman (go figure), an extremely calculated murderer who is focused on getting things done in a very small window of time. It’s almost the perfect casting for the role (which has DC origins), and there is no doubt in our mind at all that Knepper is going to find a way to do some great things here.

All in all, there’s little doubting to us that “Arrow” is firing on all cylinders. The first half of season 2 is probably the best-reviewed handful of episodes for any show in the history of The CW, and it had almost everything going for it. There was action, romance, new characters, surprises, and so much more. This is a comic book show that really is honoring the source material, and it feels like almost any genre star would love to be a part of this. They even make some of their one-episode guest stars feel important. See the Dollmaker (who has been referenced since) as an example of that.
