‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: The big ‘NCIS’ crossover you demand?

Here it is -For those of you who have long felt that “The Big Bang Theory” has failed when it comes to actually pushing forward Penny’s acting career, you are probably going to like the story that is coming up when the show returns from its brief Christmas hiatus on Thursday, January 2. This is something that actually comes close to being an “NCIS” crossover, at least when it comes to the Penny character auditioning for the hit CBS show.

First of all, brilliant choice for the “Big Bang Theory” writers to go at here. This is a show that is popular enough that even in syndication that 10 years from now viewers will understand the reference. Plus, it’s one popular show promoting another. That may not also be the only bold development in this story, at least according to the official release release from CBS:

“When Penny’s big acting break on NCIS is a bust, Leonard struggles to help her, which results in Penny asking Leonard a bold relationship question. Meanwhile, Sheldon tries to learn how to be funny and Raj tries to work on his ‘game’ before talking to girls.”

Raj’s story also brings to mind here something that we would like to see take place on “The Big Bang Theory” before this season comes to a close: Seeing him possibly date someone else. This show at times makes the ridiculous assumption that everyone is automatically going to be with the first person that they end up dating, or at least that’s what we got out of Howard / Bernadette and then Raj and Lucy. It may take him a little bit longer to find the person that is right for him, since unless something major changes down the road, we really doubt that it is going to be Lucy.

But for now, we’re mostly excited to see what happens with Penny and “NCIS,” because there are so many fun possibilities here. (For the record, no actors from the drama show listed in the press release.)
