‘The Bachelor’ cast spotlight: Meet Juan Pablo Galavis contestant Amy Long
This just in: There is a news reporter on “The Bachelor” this season. We have already featured a number of Floridians in addition to Juan Pablo Galavis in our cast spotlight series, and Amy Long is the latest addition to that. She hails from Clermont, which is near Orlando and just a few short hours away from Miami, Juan Pablo’s current place of residence.
So far, there have been a few contestants who we think will go home pretty early, and then one who is probably going to go pretty far, based on our own first impressions of her and her possible compatibility with our leading man. (Note that these lists are spoiler-free.) So where is Amy going to land in all of this? Read on to find out.
Possible pros – While there are certain aspects of having a career in the spotlight that aren’t good news for this show, what helps Amy is that she’s clearly outgoing and assertive. These are very good attributes early on this season, and she should be able to steal his attention and keep it often throughout the process. She also has that proximity angle down, and Juan Pablo has himself had a history of doing some modeling / acting for Spanish-speaking networks. They have a little common ground there; while we didn’t think last year was the year of the model on “The Bachelor,” this year could be.
Possible cons – The biggest one that we see for Amy based on her biographical information is that she could come on too strong, annoy the other women, and then make herself out to be an early target. Other than that, the only other thing that we question is her proclaiming Dr. Seuss to be her favorite author at 27 years old. (Seriously?)
Pre-shot outlook – We feel pretty good about Amy going far, and even being a candidate to win the whole show. Her doing swimsuit modeling could be something that other leading men think would be intimidating to their families, but we don’t see that being the case for Juan Pablo. She’s not necessarily who we’d pick for him, but we’ve yet to find someone that is at the top of that list.
