‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Lost’s’ Rebecca Mader to play new villain
You can pretty much guarantee now that we are not going to be seeing Robbie Kay’s Peter Pan as the primary villain for both parts of “Once Upon a Time” this season. Based on what we are hearing now, someone who Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz know rather well from their days on “Lost” will be doing that instead.
According to a report from E! News, Rebecca Mader (who played the role of Charlotte on the ABC drama) will appear in a major role in the second half of the season as a very important fairy-tale villain. For the time being, this part is under wraps, but you are probably going to know who it is before the hiatus on the show begins. ABC is going to release a promo following the fall finale a week from Sunday that will tease her role, and smartly beat people to the punch who try and take set photos and post them to the internet.
Does “Once Upon a Time” really need a new Big Bad? You could argue that there are enough stories to tell with the characters that are present, but we don’t mind it. Plus, we do enjoy the fact that this show really gives both men and women an opportunity to be equally evil, given that a good majority of shows out there seem to have a lack of quality female villains.
The saddest part of this story clearly is that you’ll be waiting until March in order to actually see Mader in action on the show, but at least then you can do so with the knowledge that there are not going to be too many forced hiatuses thanks to other stuff in February. That has infuriated plenty of fans over the course of the past several years.
Do you love Mader’s casting on the show, and what sort of role do you think that she is playing? The Wicked Witch of the West and Cruella DeVille are two favorites of the internet right now.
