‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Harry Shum Jr. confirmed, joins Mark Sallin in 100th episode

Mike -The latest addition to the “Glee” 100th episode spectacular is official, and it’s someone who has definitely formed a following for himself (and his dance moves) over the past few years: Harry Shum Jr.’s Mike Chang. Co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed on Twitter that Harry has now officially joined Amber Riley and Mark Salling as the former New Directions members who have been confirmed to return for the episode. There are a number of actors, including Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and Naya Rivera, who are obviously still a part of the show, and will be there. Meanwhile, some others, including Dianna Agron and Heather Morris, are still question marks.

We saw Shum last during the Cory Monteith tribute episode “The Quarterback,” but he really has not had a major role on the show since he came back and helped during the production of “Grease.” He remains the subject of one of our favorite episodes ever in “Asian F,” and we are curious now to find out a little more about what his friendship / relationship is like with Tina. The two broke up after Mike graduated, and she has struggled to find a real relationship since (though she did have feelings for Blaine for a little while there.)

Morris and Agron really are the two biggest question marks, and we personally feel like “Glee” would be lucky if one of them manages to come back to the show. While the general assumption is that Dianna would be interested in returning, Heather is a mystery to almost everyone. She’s been out of the spotlight since giving birth, and may or may not be interested in coming back so soon after becoming a new mom.

This episode of “Glee” will air in the spring, and voting has already begun online for some of the songs that will be remixed / covered again on the episode. There are some classic choices on there, but we’re still hoping for something a little different than more “Don’t Stop Believin'” covers.
