NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: Bret Michaels to guest star … seriously
There are some castings that you expect, some that surprise you, and then some that you never would have imagined in a million years. Finding out that Bret Michaels is appearing on “Revolution” definitely falls into the latter category.
This news was confirmed by series creator Eric Kripke to Entertainment Weekly, who claims that Bret will be appearing in an episode of the show airing early next year. Not only that, but he will perform an acoustic version of his hit “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” Who knows what sort of discussions led to this, but Kripke claims that he is a big fan of his music, so there’s that.
Personally, we think that there could be some sort of tongue-in-cheek irony when it comes to this, largely because Michaels is someone who has managed to survive quite a few shocking situations already in his life. Remember the incident at the Tony Awards, or the hemorrhage that almost cost him his life? The man is also diabetic, and yet he keeps on ticking. The irony here is that he could easily be a man who continues to somehow find a way to survive, even if there is a post-apocalyptic sort of situation where the power has been cut off.
“Revolution” could certainly find a place for a little more humor, given that one of the show’s problems was always it taking itself far too seriously. But season 2 has been an improvement on the first go-around, with stronger stories for Charlie in particular. Unfortunately, it’s been an uphill battle to get the ratings anywhere near steady, and that could continue to be difficult going into the spring when you consider everything from the competition to the likely better weather inspiring people to leave their homes and go outside.
What do you think about Michaels’ casting on “Revolution” this season: Something brilliant, or something very cheesy? Share some of your thoughts below, and click here for more scoop on what lies ahead. We’re going to have our take on the show in our Midseason Report Card series soon enough.

Great show. PVR every episode so I can go back and rewatch. Not a big Brett Michaels’ fan but I am sure he will fit in well. Got a few friends watching now too and they are hooked.
