‘Glee’ season 5, episode 8 video: Blake Jenner, Dot-Marie Jones talk Christmas, nativity scene
Just in case you have not been around the internet as of late and have missed out on some of the details from next week’s “Glee” midseason finale “Previously Unaired Christmas,” let’s try our best right now to fill you in more or less on some of the odds and ends. This is an hour of TV that is actually set during season 4, and was a part of some Christmas special that Fox determined was too “hot” to air. We don’t really know what that means, but this should be pretty interesting. So you really have to take a step back here and think about what the characters were up to last season, at least if the show dives into it.
We’ve already torn into this idea repeatedly, but we’re going to focus here a little bit more on the facts. Specifically, we’re referring to one regarding a living nativity scene. In the video below, Blake Jenner (Ryder), Becca Tobin (Kitty), and others all do their part to try and describe what it is like trying to shoot this massive scene, which involves Lauren Potter’s Becky actually playing their version of Jesus.
What’s also interesting about this is that it actually is providing an opportunity to use Dot-Marie Jones in an episode again! The last time we saw Coach Beiste, she had some great material helping Puck, who could practically be her spiritual son in some ways, through the death of Finn Hudson. Hopefully, there will be some fun moments that come out of this.
Above all else, we really just hope that this episode is light, entertaining, and doesn’t interfere with anything that happens in the present-day on the show. It’s just somewhat of a bummer now that the real cliffhanger until February is going to be a bizarre performance of “The Fox” during the end of “Puppet Master.” Heck, that entire flawed episode leaves an awkward taste. Not only that, but the ratings for it were pretty awful due to it airing on Thanksgiving.
What do you think about this video? Of course, we want to hear some of your thoughts below!

I really liked Ryder (& still do) from his 1st episode last season. But I kept waiting & trying to care about Marley, Jake & Kitty last season & I couldn’t get there. At least w/the former cast at WMHS u either loved its star (Rachel) or u hated her, but either way at least u cared enough to have a position. I kept waiting for Marley, Kitty & Jake to get personalities and it didn’t happen. They did finally give Kitty a 3 dimensional personality & I now like her & care about her character. & if they move everything to NYC, I’m going to miss Ryder & Kitty, but I can’t say the same for Marley’s character. I won’t miss unique, & as for Jake I won’t miss his character, even a little. He’s a good dancer, but no personality & when I’m watching Blaine perform, it doesn’t matter what he’s singing, he’s always so completely into the music & throughly enjoying himself & its infectious, always makes me smile & is always fun to watch. Cant say that about Jake. Marleys got a great voice, but still no personality.
Always good to see Beist though!
