‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 spoilers: Is there more to JT, Tess’ relationship?

We’ve spent quite a bit of time on “Beauty and the Beast” talking about the relationship between Cat and Vincent, so why not change things up a little today and talk about another pair that caught our attention earlier this year? JT and Tess had a moment that seemed to come almost out of nowhere and surprised us all, and since that time there has been a small but loyal group of shippers out there.

Unfortunately, there is hardly any guarantee that this story is going to continue for the two moving into the rest of the season. As a matter of fact, the latest comment from executive producer Bran Kern (per TV Guide) really does more to suggest that rather than try to get more romantic, these two could shift back more towards re-establishing a friendly relationship:

“It’s fun to bring those two characters together, yet it’s a bit limiting to play another romance on the show … I don’t know how much legs we have for that. [One thing that we’re addressing is that when] friends get together, are they supposed to stay together? Or stay friends? Sometimes you cross the line and it’s a good thing, and sometimes it’s like, ‘Let’s go back to where we were.'”

A good comparison here long-term could be Lanie and Esposito on “Castle,” given that their relationship is barely ever highlighted, though there are those who want to see it taken to another level beyond just hookup buddies. Of course, JT and Tess have not even made it to that level just yet. If it’s too much about love, then you may as well be making “Love, Actually.”

Now, we return to Vincent and Cat. We’ve got a little more scoop here on what could be lying ahead for the couple. “Beauty and the Beast” season 2 is set to return to The CW starting on Monday, January 13 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.
