‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ preview: What shocking event happens at tribal council?

Check it out -Clearly once again, “Survivor” is showing that they have no problem at all going ahead and ruining a big part of their upcoming episode in previews released by CBS. While the following is something that the network put out themselves, we still feel the need to preface it with a warning: If you do not want anything from the upcoming episode Wednesday night ruined for you in advance, stop reading now.

For the first time since all the way back in “Survivor: Marquesas,” contestants are going to be drawing rocks in order to figure out who stays in the game, and who goes. This is a very bold move, especially at the stage in the game where there are only six people voting in the first place. we’d much rather draw rocks in Cochran’s position in “Survivor: South Pacific” in comparison to the one here, where it’s possible that only three or four people will be candidates to leave the game.

There are two things that are major bummers about this preview:

1. What’s this black / white rock nonsense? Did Jeff Probst decide that the purple rock needed to stay buried with the show’s fourth season? That is what made the Paschal boot so iconic, and we’re still curious as to whether or not Paschal would have won had that not happened.

2. Why in the world is the show spoiling who lost the Redemption Island duel? There was no need to include that sort of camera shot in the preview, since you could have just shown Jeff Probst announcing that they were drawing rocks and have that be it. All of this is very symptomatic of what is “Survivor’s” biggest problem in an otherwise great season: They’ve gotten so desperate to “hook” casual viewers that they are willing to ruin big moments in the process.

The reason that there is no video below is because obviously someone at CBS realized that this was a bad move to have this video out there, and they switched it to private mere minutes into writing this. Because we are big believers in not spoiling anything that the network wants to remain a secret, we’re not going to say here who lost at Redemption Island. If you saw it before the preview went down, consider yourself to be one of the lucky ones (or unlucky ones as the case may be).

For now, just speculate over whether or not it is a good move to draw rocks at this point in the game. Meanwhile, click here if you want to read some more news pertaining to “Survivor,” and we’ve also go the most-recent updates in the attached sidebar.
