‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ episode 12 preview: Could Gervase Peterson really be swayed?
From our vantage point, it was clear that tonight’s “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” episode was one of the best that we’ve seen in a long time. It was suspenseful, and it also created a great blindside with Caleb. It was everything that you could want from a show that has stepped up its game post-merge.
But where does the game go from here? Next week, we’re almost back on square on in that Tyson no longer has his idol, and he has to figure out a way to stay alive in a game where not even his allies may fully trust him anymore … and for good reason, since he did not trust them enough to share what he was carrying all of this time.
Also, Hayden is going to be doing almost everything that he can at this point to try to shake up the game a little bit … including trying to sway Gervase to side with him and get rid of his longtime ally. The thing to realize is that this is a guy who won “Big Brother” for a reason: He’s a great, subtle gameplayer. Even tonight, he managed to make sure that Caleb was somehow more of a target to take out than him. He’s not going to go down without a fight, and there is a little bit of logic to getting rid of Tyson. But, at the same time, we also doubt that going to the end with Hayden is a better move at all. Instead, this is something more likely cause him to lose for sure, since Hayden’s got that nice-guy edit and he never taunted anyone at a challenge. Gervase’s best move would be to really get rid of all of the threats, and then try to go to the end with Katie and Monica, arguing that he made all the strategic moves.
