‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Lea Michele posts side-by-side ‘Funny Girl’ comparison

Is Lea Michele really setting herself up to be the next Barbra Streisand? While it’s probably not right to say that right about now, we can at least say that the “Funny Girl” storyline on “Glee” season 5 is in full swing, and when you consider that Barbra is one of Lea’s self-proclaimed heroes, we image to imagine that she is enjoying playing this part for the time being.

In a new post on Twitter, Lea shared what is a side-by-side image of her and the legendary Streisand showing off their own individual looks from the famed show, which in the “Glee” timeline continues to be going pretty well. Is Lea pulling off the look? When it comes to the outfit and even the wig (which we first saw on “The End of Twerk”), we certainly think so. She is getting closer and closer to the show getting off the ground, even if there are still a number of other hurdles that need to be overcome. Rachel Berry is still not deep into the rehearsal process yet, and we don’t quite know whether or not there will be an out-of-town tryout where the show occupies a city like Boston for a little while.

While Rachel is firmly enveloped in the “Funny Girl” world, some of her other classmates are going to be trying to take on some of their own problems. For example, the Thanksgiving episode “Puppet Master” will tackle whether or not Kurt and Blaine have an issue with letting go of control, and we are still waiting to see whether or not Sam and Artie really could be heading to New York City following the end of the “Movin’ Out” episode. While it seems like they are moving in the direction of the stories all converging in New York, we would have thought that the entire original McKinley classic would have graduated already.
