Have you been hoping for a visit back from the dead on “The Vampire Diaries“? We cannot speak for everyone here, but we’ve been clearly hoping that in some way, we could see Alaric find a way to grace the show again, let alone Aunt Jenna, Uncle John, or some of the other dead people who are still somewhere out there.
Given the complicated mechanics of what really gets a character to the “other side,” though, there is no reason for some of these spirits to still linger. However, Kat Graham does tease to TVLine that thanks in part to her new ability to be a sort of buffer between the living and the spirit world, we are going to see some more folks on the show who have not been around for a while soon:
“Yes, Bonnie is going to see a lot of familiar faces. You are going to see a lot of familiar faces.”
That is all that Graham would say, and mostly because she was trying very hard to remain coy, and not give anything away that would want to cause Caroline Dries and Julie Plec to send her to the other side permanently.
While on most shows the number of the dead would probably not be so large, “The Vampire Diaries” has enough members of the dead family to form their own army and attack you with such ferocity, you would think you were reading a Robert Kirkman comic. There are plenty of opportunities here, though we would caution the show to be careful with it. While we are going to be continually protective of some characters (see Alaric) and hopeful that they will return, you want to also ensure that death still means something important.
What do you think about Graham’s comment here, and do you have anyone that you want to see pop in now thanks to her new ability? Of course, we want to hear what you think in the comment box below. Also, we’ve got a preview for the next new episode here, so be sure to swing by and check that out for at least a moment.
