NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2 spoilers: Let’s talk that Monroe / Charlie tension
There is a pretty enormous elephant in the room on “Revolution” season 2, and it has been there for quite a few weeks now: Charlie and Monroe. These are two people who, at least in theory, really have no business spending much time together at all. However, they have become a pair of people who are one of the most intriguing characters to watch. There’s at least a slight bit of chemistry there, and it takes this relationship of two people who should want to kill each other and adds this whole, mysterious, and very creepy new dynamic.
Just in case you’re wondering if something is wrong with you for picking up on some of these vibes, take a deep breath: You’re just fine. This is something that the show itself has paid attention to, and while there’s no for-sure guarantee that the writers would ever go to that polarizing place when it comes to the two characters, they are seeing how it plays out. Just take a look at what executive producer Rockne S. O’Bannon is saying to TVLine for more on that very subject:
“[The chemistry] is something that we’ve seen, as well, and we really think is really quite interesting. So there’s a potential for that. I’d hate to say that it couldn’t happen, but obviously there’s a lot of things stacked against it … There’s a creepiness factor to it that is on the one hand creepy, and on the other hand is maybe worth exploring. But the sparks between them, that low-level spark, is definitely something we’re very cognizant of.”
Probably the more interesting thing than just if the two characters could hook up is just what would happen if they did. Would the show almost become this Shakespearean take on forbidden love? It would certain bend the genres a little bit beyond just what felt like it was originally just going to be a work of science fiction. Seeing the look on Miles face in particular may be the equivalent of a million of the little nanobots charging at his face.
Do you think this is a pairing that could actually … work? Share below! Also, we’ve got more “Revolution” news here pertaining to Kim Raver, and just how long we could see her back later this season.

It’s interesting to see them interact right now, but it’s all about the common cause.
In World War II, the German allied with the Soviets, then they turned on them. The USA didn’t like the Soviets, but they allied with them all the same because they “needed” them. When the war ended, friends became foes, and we got 44 years of Cold War. The same would happen here, except it wouldn’t be cold.
Monroe’s forces are directly responsible for killing her father and brother. Monroe kept her mother captive for years and years. There is no realistic way that she is ever, every going to forgive him for that…let alone shack up with him, unless it gave her an opportunity to slit his throat while he’s sleeping.

I’d love the Shakespearean twist…and these two actors have obvious chemistry (in real life, they’re only 12 years apart, not 22+, as their characters are in the show). Many fans love both Monroe and Charlie…both characters have a sense of loss and abandonment. It would be creepy, but creepy cool, actually, to see them fall in love and make it together….

We don’t really know how old Tracy Spiridakos is in real life, some say that shes 24, some say 30. So they could be closer in age than 12 years.

I don’t know if it would work out for them or not, but I’d definitely be interested to see what happens
