‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: Is this photo Patrick Jane learning who is Red John?

Fans of “The Mentalist,” the wait is almost over. In just within the span of a week now, you are finally going to have an opportunity to earn the answer to a long-awaited question: Who is Red John?

At this point, we are almost just as curious as to why someone would choose to be Red John in addition to who. Why would someone kill so many of the people that Patrick Jane loves, and then torture him for many years? Also, why would someone choose to use such a bizarre, garish name and logo for it? This is the time for answers, and there are only two episodes left in tonight’s “The Great Red Dragon,” and then next week’s hour simply-titled “Red John.” That is the one that so many of you out there are certainly looking forward to seeing, given that it should provide you with all of the answers that you need and then some.

This first-look photo above shows Simon Baker’s character with a stern look on his face, and in our mind, we imagine this being the look during the final showdown, once he finally has the mystery solved. Going into tonight, there are only three suspects remaining, and given that there have been teasers regarding death taking pace in the weeks ahead, we wouldn’t be shocked to see next week start with only two names still in the running. Also, we’re going to learn what the meaning is behind the tattoo. Supposedly, it is the mark for some sort of secret organization that these suspects are all part of, but there has to be a greater backstory here that we have yet to see completely.

“The Mentalist” on the promotional side is all about trying to give this story a satisfying ending, but in terms of production, they are already trying to map out all of the moves ahead.
