‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: Emily Swallow promoted before post-Red John debut
Even though we still don’t know who is Red John, “The Mentalist” is looking to answer another question: Who are we going to see aboard the show following the storyline’s aftermath? The answer is that we have another official series regular signing up in Emily Swallow, who will be joining Rockmond Dunbar next month when the story moves beyond just a singular villain that Patrick Jane has been hunting down for years.
This news was first reported by TVLine, who claims that we are going to see the first appearance from Swallow’s enigmatic Kim Fischer in the December 1 episode (which also happens to be the first episode without Red John as a primary subject). The only real scoop that is out there on this character right now is that she has an important impact on Patrick Jane’s life. Thus far, her major credits include arcs on “Southland,” “Ringer,” and “Monday Mornings.”
As for Dunbar’s character, who will see his part of an FBI Supervisory Agent appear for the first time in the episode entitled “the Great Red Dragon,” which airs on Sunday night. He is the sort of guy who could create all sorts of new trouble for Jane in that he does not accept a whole lot of nonsense, and we’re guessing that he will also not be that appreciative of most of the ways that Jane uses to solve crime. He’s a little bit unorthodox, and this is a character that looks to be extremely straight-laced, at least at first. In case the name Dunbar doesn’t ring a bell to you, his most famous role as of late has been policeman Eli Roosevelt on the FX smash hit “sons of Anarchy.” This will be a big week for him, given that he does have a pretty important role on that show during Tuesday night’s “Aon Rud Persanta.”
