‘Super Fun Night’ casts ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum Fred Armisen as…

Will it work? -We know that at times, Fred Armisen was everyone’s favorite target courtesy of his gig on “Saturday Night Live.” He created the abomination known as The Californians, but he also was a part of a number of other great things, as well. Therefore, we admit that there are some times that we do actually miss seeing him as a part of the program.

But, Fred and “SNL” have moved on, and he has now find another gig to go along with his regular job on “Portlandia”: “Super Fun Night.” According to Entertainment Weekly, We are going to be seeing Armisen guest-star on an upcoming episode next year in the role of Brian Headfoot, an HR chief at the firm where Rebel Wilson’s Kimmie works. Specifically, he will be brought in to help settle a dispute that is going on between her and Kendall.

This is not Fred’s first appearance on network TV show this fall, also made a small, but hilarious, cameo in the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” pilot as a man who took the photo that the police were showing around to people, and then walked right back in his house. “Super Fun Night” is a show that does need a little bit more of some seasoned comedy charm behind it. While it has improved since that pilot episode that was not even the first show to air (mostly because ABC was worried about it tanking), it has a little bit of work to do still to be on a level where we are jumping up and down while screaming about it. Hopefully, it will be a show that arrives at this point soon enough. (It could also use a bump in the ratings along the way, given that much of its success right now is attributed to it airing following the ratings beast that is “Modern Family.”)
